There are numerous exciting and effective somatic modalities currently in the field. As a graduate of the Somatic Counseling Psychology Program at Naropa University (2009), I received training in many of the best: Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Therapy, Hakomi, Dance/Movement Therapy, the Moving Cycle, Body-Mind Centering, and Authentic Movement.

My S-CST model integrates, on a foundational level, core aspects from all of these modalities into Sex Therapy and Relationship Therapy by bridging the self-to-self somatosensory experience and somatic creative process with the self-to-other dance of somatic attunement, relational neurobiology, and total body connectivity to optimize intimate relationships and embodied sexuality.

This training presents the concentric layers of the model, Body Movement Observation & Assessment, ethics, and somatic interventions for you to weave into your sex therapy practice and your favorite modalities (EMDR, IFS, ACT, EFT, etc.).

Based on my book Whole-Body Sex, it offers an experiential learning environment to feel the work as you learn how to apply to your work with clients.

The S-CST model is great for psychotherapists and state-licensed clinicians as it does not include therapist-client touch, though I do offer clear guidance for bodyful touch practices between intimate partners within the therapy session.

About me! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and author. Over 17 years I've integrated my Masters in Somatic Counseling Psychology (emphasis Dance/Movement Therapy) with sex therapy and couples therapy training to help people have more embodied, meaningful intimacy. My work has been deepened through my own experience as a survivor of breast cancer and a person navigating perimenopause.
