Description of Event: 
A Holistic Lens into Sex Therapy course will explore different ways of viewing sexuality from a pluriverse perspective. This course will assist participants to learn about sexuality from ancient cultures and how expressions of sexuality can be diverse based on cultural background as well as geographical location. The course will teach participants how Andean culture perceives the connection to the natural elements and how this can be incorporated into sex therapy. 
 
It is through the exploration of this lens that the course will focus on providing a space for exploration of ways of approaching cases and learning new practical skills to use with diverse groups of clients in sex therapy. The course also explores the concept of sexual citizenship through the impact of patriarchal systems, systems of oppression, gender violence, sexual rights, and migration.  
 
Learning Objectives:
  1. Explore world views on sexuality. 
  2. Explore the Andean view on wellness and sexuality. 
  3. Advanced knowledge of sexual expressions, practices and behaviors across cultures, and geographies.
  4. Describe and explore one’s own view on holistic methods in sex therapy.
  5. Explore ways of how sex therapy can be implemented from a holistic perspective. 
  6. Demonstrate an understanding of how to collaborate with other professionals. 
  7. Demonstrate an understanding of how a holistic lens into sex therapy can be used.
  8. Apply learned skills in course to sex therapy cases.
Sex Therapy Training Area:
C. Theory and methods of approach to intervention in relationship systems experiencing sex and intimacy problems. 
E. Principles of consultation, collaboration, and referral.
F. Ethical decision-making and best practice.
