As professionals who work with people in clinical, educational, or medical, settings, we are aware that approximately 25% of our clients will have histories of child sexual abuse. We may not know - or even think we need to know - which of them is a survivor. Should we ask? Should we expect our clients, students, or patients to tell us? If they do - how do we deal with that disclosure?

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) are often overlooked or forgotten when it comes to human sexuality.  This oversight leads to a plethora of barriers and stigma for the community. This presentation will highlight various ways to adapt materials and lessons for the needs of the learner.

Sexuality Educators are often involved in intimate partner violence prevention and treatment. This lecture will help educators recognize the signs of reproductive and sexual coercion that often go undetected and identify the role educators can play in supporting survivors.

Description of Event:
Despite a multitude of challenges presented by the pandemic, sexuality educators have found innovative ways to reach youth and adults with information and skills needed to make healthy decisions about their sexual health, link them to services, and advocate on their behalf. This presentation summarizes tips and recommendations gathered from a survey of 51 sexuality educators.
