Practical Polyamory #5: Healthy Household Management

Title of Event: Practical Polyamory #5: Healthy Household Management

Description of Event:
Nesting (living together) is a goal for many ENM folks– as is nesting with more than one partner. But even if you live alone or with one partner, ENM poses some unique challenges to maintaining a happy and harmonious home. How are labor and finances managed among everyone? How often does a partner have to stay over before they’re part of the household and not just a guest? What are your boundaries around your space? Let’s talk about setting up a household that sets you up for success.

During this session, we’ll talk about:
-Establishing a brand-new household and the decisions you’ll need to make
-Fairness, equality, equity– what does this mean in terms of chores, money, and space in your home among all your partners?
-Deciding how the space in your home will be shared and used
-Knowing when it’s right to move in together
-Moving a partner into an established home and keeping everyone comfortable
-Breaking up a household and managing that transition, whether your relationship has ended or not

There will be time at the end of the session for Q&A and discussion, with an anonymous form for submitting anything you’re too shy to say out loud. Join us for our next to last session and start figuring out how to establish or improve your ENM living situation.
