Like a Pro brings the transformative model of the Wheel of Consent to professionals working with topics of consent, boundaries, relational intimacy, body sovereignty, trauma recovery, sexuality, communication, and touch. Originally developed for touch practitioners, the course has, by popular demand, expanded to include non-touch professionals like therapists, coaches, teachers, and workshop leaders.

THE PRACTICE
The Wheel of Consent provides a framework for understanding how to be in deep integrity within the dynamics of giving and receiving, doing and being done to. Through coached somatic experiences, you'll learn to:

• Assess what your client is truly ready for—and what they are not—through noticing rather than assumption
• Create containers of genuine safety where clients can access their authentic yes and no
• Identify and maintain your professional limits while staying present and available
• Recognize compliance – a coping skill that can masquerade as consent—in your clients and in yourself
• Support clients in reclaiming agency when systems of coercion have conditioned them to override their own knowing

THE SKILLS YOU'LL DEVELOP
• The single most important practitioner skill: putting yourself aside to create space for clients to show up authentically
• How to distinguish between giving and receiving—and why this clarity prevents boundary violations and burnout
• Assessment methods that honor where clients actually are, not where you (or they) think they should be
• How to co-create moment-to-moment presence with clients, meeting them with responsiveness to their needs rather than our own agenda

WHAT YOU'LL BE ABLE TO TEACH YOUR CLIENTS
• To notice, value, trust, and communicate their needs and desires — even when external forces tell them not to
• To recognize and uphold their own boundaries
• To identify when they're going along with something versus genuinely choosing it
• To access the confidence and clarity needed to both give and receive with integrity
• Simple practices to take home that build capacity for authentic consent
• Somatic practices that allow this learning to become embodied

Like a Pro courses are taught by certified faculty from The School of Consent, who have been trained by Dr. Betty Martin, the developer of the Wheel of Consent.

Sex Therapy (ST) Training: 

ST1. Theory and methods of sex-related psychotherapy, including several different models.
ST5. Principles of consultation, collaboration and referral.
ST6. Ethical decision-making and best practice.
