Description of Event: 

From Distance to Desire is a 3-hour in-person professional training grounded in attachment theory and practical, clinically informed frameworks to help participants understand how disconnection develops and how to support reconnection, communication, and emotional safety with clarity and confidence. Continuing Education and AASECT Approval: This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification.

What You’ll Gain

  • By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
  • Differentiate low desire as a presenting concern from DSM-5-TR desire-related diagnoses using duration, distress, and contextual exclusions.
  • Explain how attachment strategies (secure, anxious, avoidant, disorganized) influence nervous system regulation, conflict patterns, and sexual connection.
  • Identify and conceptualize the pursuer–withdrawer cycle using an attachment and autonomic nervous system lens.
  • Apply Touch Talk Trust® principles to support somatic safety and decrease threat responses that interfere with intimacy.
  • Demonstrate use of the T.A.L.K. framework to structure regulated, safe communication and reduce escalation.
  • Implement the S.T.E.P.S. model to guide trust repair and increase consistency, accountability, and relational safety over time.
