When Harm Hits Home: Resourcing Collective Repair
Title of Event: When Harm Hits Home: Resourcing Collective Repair
Meeting harm with care, not punishment; reclaiming home as a place of repair. (ASL Provided)
When Harm Hits Home asks us to get real: consent alone won’t keep all harm away — so how do we reclaim our bodies and minds as home when harm happens anyway?
This advanced training is designed for practitioners, advocates, and community leaders ready to move toward collective repair. When relationships rupture, when trust breaks, when our bodies and hearts feel unsafe in spaces we thought were home — how do we respond with healing rather than punishment? How do we create cultures of accountability that restore rather than exile?
Drawing from transformative justice and healing-centered practices, we'll explore cutting-edge approaches to meeting interpersonal and sexual harm with courage and compassion. This isn't about "getting over it" or "moving on" — it's about the sacred work of rebuilding home in our bodies, relationships, and communities after harm has shattered our sense of safety.
What We'll Explore:
Moving from carceral responses to restorative practices
Facilitating accountability processes that center healing
Supporting survivors while holding space for those who cause harm
Building community containers strong enough to hold complexity
Cultural and systemic factors that shape how we respond to interpersonal violence
