Title of Event: Implementing IDEAs in Practice (DEI Strategies)

Description of Event: Although Diversity, Equity, & Inclusivity have faded within corporate bureaucracies, the need to have these things are important to have for your company or organizations’ success. To grant access to those who need it is detrimental for folks and accessibility should not be taken lightly. In this class, we’ll focus on inclusivity and what this looks like in real time, the importance of diversity and being able to stretch your organization’s standards, understanding what equity looks like in your business or organization and then, ultimately, using these as a way to lead you to practice these things on a daily basis in your actions. We’ll dissect how our intersectional identities hold us to want to do these things or don’t do these things; our privileges can be the things that hold us back, but the more that we can do, the more we’ll be able to connect to our audience. The more that they feel safe and understood, the more success you’ll have with developing kinship amongst the communities that make up your identities and beyond, which, in due time, will contribute to your success and expansion of your audience.
