Description:
Join Molly Adler of Sex Therapy New Mexico for a panel discussion with Aredvi Azad and Ignacio Rivera of the HEAL Project. We'll learn from Aredvi and Ignacio about treating sexual trauma outside the therapy room, liberatory sex education, raising sex positive kids, and reframing models of punishment around harm.
Ignacio and Aredvi will introduce RASHIM, The Rivera-Azad Sexual Healing Integration Model during the panel discussion.
Rivera-Azad Sexual Healing Integration Model (RASHIM)
The Rivera-Azad Sexual Healing Integration Model (RASHIM) offers a roadmap for sexual healing that captures the past, present, and future of our sexual relations. RASHIM locates nine areas of sexuality navigation, referred to as Pillars. Each Pillar represents a unique step in human sexual evolution and contains experiences, ideas, feelings, and actions. While the pillars are interconnected and relevant throughout our lives, they are categorized into three stages: rooting, growing, and yielding. In Just Healing Training, we focus on healing each stage as well as developing their corresponding connection skills.

Learning Objectives
Identify ways individual therapy is limited as a primary treatment for sexual trauma
Understand connections between childhood sexual abuse and sex education
Develop understanding that sexuality must be understood within existing power relations, and that redistribution of power is essential to the work of sexual healing and liberation
