Description of Event:

About 9% of the American Jews identify as Orthodox. For sex therapists practicing in areas heavily populated by Jews, it is important to have education on how to provide culturally and religiously sensitive sex therapy. This course will explore some of the practices in Orthodox Judaism that will play a role in sex therapy and will introduce therapists to therapeutic techniques and stregths-based approaches to work with this population.

SAR: Youth Sexuality is vital because we will be guided by the goals of liberation with a focus on positive youth development, racial, reproductive, disability, gender, and media justice for an exploration about youth culture and youth experiences with their expanding sexuality and expressions!

Title of Event: HSEX 6013: Perspectives and Practices in Sexual Health Education

Description of Event:

This course covers the history of sexuality education, primarily in the US with international comparison, as well as current and emerging issues in sexual health education. Using readings, discussion forums, peer review, and an applied final project, students will understand the temporal changes in sexual health education in the US and abroad and the empirical, theoretical, and educational foundations of sexual health education.

Description of Event:

Intersectionality has become a buzzword used often and often misused. This course examines and engages with primary resources of Intersectionality as a theory, framework, and practice. We will discuss how this practice and theory has expanded, critiques, and ways we have used Intersectionality incorrectly along with strategies for being better about each part of this critical practice.

Title of Event: Canva 101 for Sexuality Education
 
Description of Event: This one-and-a-half-hour asynchronous webinar is designed to introduce the basics of Canva for sexuality education purposes. I’m not a professional designer, but I’m a sexuality educator who loves using Canva to create slides for webinars, videos, Instagram posts, and branded content.  I will be teaching the basics of Canva, how to start a basic presentation, present it, record it, and share it with others.
