Description of Event: 

A Holistic Lens into Sex Therapy course will explore different ways of viewing sexuality from a pluriverse perspective. This course will assist participants to learn about sexuality from ancient cultures and how expressions of sexuality can be diverse based on cultural background as well as geographical location. The course will teach participants how Andean culture perceives the connection to the natural elements and how this can be incorporated into sex therapy.

This course is designed for both professional mental health workers AND individuals looking to establish safety and connection in their KINKY sex practices. We'll examine how incorporating the modern science of Interpersonal Neurobiology with KINK dynamics can allow for increased co-regulation and self-regulation skills so we can fully enjoy the ANXIETY and STRESS we intentionally invite into SEX.

Using readings, discussion forums, peer review, and an applied final project, students will understand the range of sexual responses people may experience, diagnostic categories of sexual functioning, and the range of therapies available.
