Boundaries, Feeling, and Consent: Working with Survivors & Other Miracles
Title: Boundaries, Feeling, and Consent: Working with Survivors & Other Miracles
Date: June 2, 2023, 12:30pm MST - 2:30pm MST
Location: online synchronous
Description:
In this trauma-sensitive space, we will gather to explore ways to help our clients respect and care for themselves, including developing their ability to feel and learning to express consent, make requests, and set boundaries. Using a combination of somatic exercises, journaling, and group discussion, we will examine what it means to return home to our bodies and create safety and connection. Participants will leave with a sense of possible paths forward, and concrete tools they can use. Special attention will be paid to queer and trans clients and relationships.
Learning Objectives:
•Define why feeling matters for trauma survivors and how to help clients reengage their felt sense.
•Use three new somatic practices with their clients to help them understand and practice consent.
•Use three new practices to help themselves and their clients regulate their nervous systems and return to center.
