Adaptive Intimacy: Inclusive approaches to sex(uality)

Title of Event: Adaptive Intimacy: Inclusive approaches to sex(uality)

Description of Event: Bodies are political. As such, certain bodies are often rendered invisible by educational institutions, healthcare settings, and more. This workshop aims to increase visibility and therapeutic practices for bodies that have been deemed as “abnormal”: including fat or disabled bodies, folks with chronic illnesses, diverse genital appearances, skin colors, and more. Be prepared to be introduced to educational tools that value diversity, adaptive sexuality instruments, methods of care, and more.

Course objectives:
Understand the intersections between bodies, politics, health, and education.
Uplift the experiences of people whose bodies have been systematically and systemically left out of visibility in health and educational settings.
Recognize educational tools that increase visibility for pathologized bodies.
Learn inclusive approaches to sex therapy and education through the lens of disability and fat studies.
