Title of Event: Sexuality, Ritual and Healing
Description of Event:
Ritual has been used for millennia to help humans to heal traumas or hurts, aid us in life transitions, or celebrate ourselves. How can ritual be used in a therapeutic setting by those in the sex therapy and sex education fields? This workshop will explore various types of therapeutic rituals that can be used as interventions when people are stuck or wish to make a change in their perspectives or their lives. Participants will create simple rituals in class as examples.

- Discuss how therapist/client created ritual can be of benefit in a therapeutic context.
- Recognize how ritual can be used in an educational setting.
- Identify how these experiences can be applied in personal growth contexts.
- Identify the major elements of a therapeutic ritual.
- Clinicians will be able to analyze what type of ritual may benefit a particular client. (Skip if you are not a counselor or therapist).
