Title: Sexual Pain through the Lens of a Pelvic PT

Date: April 28, 2023, 12 pm MDT - 2:00 pm MDT

Location: online synchronous

Description:
This course will give you an introductory understanding of the pelvic floor of vulva/vagina owners. Dr. Felicia Chaves PT, DPT will explain how pelvic floor therapy and related approaches can reduce pain with sexual activity. Felicia will offer an in-depth review of pelvic floor anatomy and physiology for basic pelvic floor function and understand how they impact sexual function. She’ll help debunk myths and misunderstandings about sexual health, and review various factors that contribute to pelvic pain with sexual activity. Felicia will introduce typical pelvic floor therapy treatments and common therapeutic tools used for home exercise programs through case studies and examples. By the end of this course you will be able to better know when a client needs a pelvic health physical or occupational therapist, what questions to ask to properly screen for pelvic floor dysfunction, and have a better understanding of physiological factors that drive pain with sexual intercourse and sexual activity.
This training will be recorded. If you don't want your voice to be recorded, you can always use the chat during the event. Only the speaker and slides will be visually recorded.
Are you hoping to just watch the recording? While some of this training is definitely experiential, we will be recording and you'll have access to watch for 90 days after the event. CE credit is available for asynchronous attendance.
