Queer Theory

Title of Event: Queer Theory

Description of Event:
In this course, participants will be invited to consider sexuality and gender from a sociocultural perspective, examining the myriad ways in which cis/heteronormativity creates and shapes conceptions of "normal" and "deviant". Through this lens, participants will deepen understandings of how the dominant sociocultural narrative of cis/heteronormativity does not only negatively affect those who it marginalizes, but all members of society. Central to this course is discussion of the intersections of queer theory, critical race theory, and crip theory.
