Description of Event:
Gain an understanding of the solution-focused approach to counseling as a brief method for resolving sexual complaints and learn to formulate a solution-focused treatment plan for either an individual or a couple. Understand when and how sensate focus can be used in the treatment of various sexual issues, such as arousal problems, orgasm difficulties, erectile dysfunction, and premature ejaculation. Observe a role-play between a nurse practitioner and a surrogate client to reinforce the importance of rapport and brief counseling approaches, as well as how to refer to a sex therapist—a psychotherapist trained in treating sexual disorders. Discover which sexual aids and lubricants might be recommended to clients or patients based on their complaints.
