Managing Erotic Transference and Countertransference in Therapy

Title of Event: Managing Erotic Transference and Countertransference in Therapy

Description of Event:
In this comprehensive training, participants will delve into the nuanced dynamics of managing erotic transference and countertransference within therapy sessions. This workshop will explore the interplay of boundaries, ethics, feelings, and the potential for profound insights and healing.

Special attention will be given to "small world ethics," emphasizing the unique ethical considerations when working within interconnected communities, such as queer, trans, kinky, and consensually non-monogamous (CNM) groups. The training will also address the challenges posed by a medicalized and sex-negative societal context, where professionals may fear legal repercussions or social backlash.
