People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) are often overlooked or forgotten when it comes to human sexuality.  This oversight leads to a plethora of barriers and stigma for the community. This presentation will highlight various ways to adapt materials and lessons for the needs of the learner.

Overcontrolled temperament, sexual perfectionism, and psychological rigidity inhibit the pursuit of sexual pleasure. In this lecture, Dr. Tom Murray describes his process of working with the sexual inhibited, with a heavy emphasis on Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Sex coaching is based on the foundation of competent 1:1 sex education. Using a humanistic sexological approach (with sample cases), this lecture presents how to apply the Britton MEBES© system to create comprehensive Assessments of clients’ blockages then craft effective Action Steps toward resolution and healing for clients’ sexual fulfillment.

This presentation will highlight the results of a human sexuality survey administered over the past 30 years to thousands of University of Maine college students. Responses by nearly 7,000 college students between the ages of 18-22 will be presented, including attitudes and behaviors, as well as trends over time.
