The Time for Inclusive Education (Tie) campaign, which has been building a case for inclusive education that teaches about the full range of human sexualities in school, will be bringing its message to the Scottish Parliament, at a public petitions committee meeting in October. Their presentation will include testimony from people who have experienced discrimination and abuse because of their sexuality.
The public petitions committee has the power to publish recommendations, which could bring Tie's goals closer to fruition.
The campaign is inviting people to send their stories and experiences as LGBTI+ students at school, or as people who have witnessed discrimination on grounds of sexual or gender orientation, to stories@tiecampaign.co.uk. These stories will be shared with the Scottish parliament.
