Join us for "Behind the Velvet Curtain: The Impact of Sex Worker Inclusion in Sexology," a transformative online workshop designed to integrate the critical perspectives of sex workers into the field of sexology. This session is led by a queer BIPOC sex worker-turned-sexologist, who brings both personal experience and professional expertise to the discussion.
What to Expect:
-Historical Insights: Journey through the evolving role of sex work in societies around the world and its significance across the ages.
-Mythbusting: Challenge and correct the common misconceptions about sex work, fostering a more accurate and respectful understanding.
Untapped Knowledge: Dive into the rich insights from sex work, which offer nuanced understandings of human sexuality, relationships, and cultural dynamics.
-Inclusive Strategies: Learn to develop and apply strategies that advocate for and include sex workers in research, academia, and clinical practices.
This 6-hour workshop takes place over 2 days (3 hours per day) on August 10 from 12pm - 3pm CDT and August 11 from 1pm - 4pm CDT. It is not only an opportunity to broaden your professional perspective but also a chance to earn 6 AASECT continuing education credits that can be used for certification or renewal.
