Description of Event:
Assessing a client or patient’s (C/P) sexual issues requires knowledge of how to conduct an initial interview and determine the level of counseling the C/P may need to optimize sexual function and pleasure. A practical brief sexual history model is presented in *Fundamentals of Assessment, Pt. 1 and Pt. 2*, alongside a more in-depth sexological ecosystemic approach to identify specific contributing factors. Ensuring an atmosphere of safety for discussing sexual issues is covered in *Trauma-Informed Care and Sexuality Counseling*.

SC2. Theory and methods of sexuality counseling approaches to specific populations (e.g., youth, older adult, couples, LGBTQ people, people with disabilities, ethnic/ cultural/ faith-based populations).
SC5. Ethical issues in sexuality counseling.
 
Sex Therapy (ST) Training:
ST2. Techniques of sex-related assessment and diagnosis of the Psychosexual Disorders described in the current edition of the DSM.
ST6. Ethical decision-making and best practice.
