Abortion, Stigma, and Bodily Autonomy: Presented in conjunction with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England

Title of Event: Abortion, Stigma, and Bodily Autonomy: Presented in conjunction with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England

Description of Event:
Across the U.S., conversations about abortion, autonomy, and sexual health are more urgent and more complicated than ever. The 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision reshaped the legal landscape, creating sharp differences in access depending on where someone lives. These disparities layer onto existing inequities in healthcare, education, and economics, often falling hardest on communities already facing systemic barriers. And stigma, whether public, institutional, or internalized, still silences dialogue, erodes trust, and limits people’s ability to make informed choices about their bodies.

Who is this training for?
Educators, clinicians, social workers, therapists, community advocates: anyone who holds conversations about sexual health and wants better tools to talk about abortion. Together, we’ll explore both the medical and social dimensions of abortion and autonomy, building the knowledge, language, and tools to counter stigma, foster respectful dialogue, and support people in navigating reproductive choices with clarity and care.

Please note: This is a two-part training series. Attendance at both sessions is required to receive CE credit.
