The Adolescent Family Life Act, or “Chastity Bill,” is passed by Congress establishing the Office of Adolescent Pregnancy and beginning the expenditure of hundreds of millions of dollars on propaganda programs that promote sexual abstinence among high school students. The United States becomes the first and only country in the world to create a federal agenda regarding the virginity of its citizens. Under President Ronald Reagan, Congress enacts Title XX or the Public Health Service Act, Section 501b — the Adolescent Family Life Act (AFLA) , a.k.a. “The Chastity Act.” Developed from the 1978 Adolescent Pregnancy Program, AFLA programs are required to teach abstinence from sex — virginity and are prohibited from encouraging, promoting, or advocated family planning services, including contraception or abortion.
