Supervisee__________________________________________

AASECT Certified Sexuality Counselor Supervisor____________________________________

This contract for the supervision of sexuality counselor supervision will begin immediately upon approval by the AASECT Practitioner Supervisor Certification Committee and will serve to satisfy the contract requirements for AASECT Sexuality Counselor Supervisor Certification. This contract will remain in effect until the supervisee has accrued thirty (30) hours of supervision of supervision.  Both supervisor and supervisee will keep a record of the supervision, and it will be the responsibility of both the supervisor and supervisee that all documentation is complete for submission of the certification application. Neither this contract, nor the completion of thirty (30) hours of supervision, guarantee that the supervisee will be certified. Ultimately it is the judgment of the supervisor to determine an applicant’s readiness to submit an application for AASECT Certification. The AASECT Practitioner Supervisor Certification Committee determines eligibility and approval of the supervisee’s certification application.

The supervisor and the supervisee will outline a mutually agreeable plan for case consultation and supervision to improve the supervisee’s skills in the process of supervising sexuality counselors to the standard required for AASECT Sexuality Counselor Supervisor Certification.

The supervisee shall supervise counselors working toward AASECT Certification. These counselors will work with clients individually and couples who may be presenting with sexual or relational issues that impact the sexual relationship. The sexuality educator supervisee will work with cases of desire, arousal and orgasm phase difficulties, as well as medically related sexual dysfunctions. Supervision will include: discussion of relevant theory and its application in the provision of supervision, discussion of the supervisee’s management of the supervisee’s case conceptualization, treatment planning and execution, and ability to manage difficult and complex cases. The supervisor will also monitor adherence to the AASECT Code of Ethics.

The method of supervision will be either face-to-face, telephone, audio/videotaping or some other platform of video conferencing which is HIPPA compliant. It will take place at either the supervisor’s or supervisee’s clinical practice location.

Both the supervisor and the supervisee will adhere to the AASECT Code of Ethics. Both will maintain ongoing AASECT membership, AASECT Sexuality Counselor Certification and licensure in their respective professions if needed. Additionally, the supervisor will maintain AASECT Sexuality Counselor Supervisor Certification.

The supervision contract may be terminated by either party with thirty (30) days notice for any reason.
