Lauren Whitelaw, Psy.D.

I'm focused on delivering compassionate, individualized and empirically-validated psychotherapy designed to help clients understand and improve their mental health, intimacy and relationships. With a grounding in neurophysiological theory, I use cognitive-behavioural, compassion-focused and values-driven therapies. In practicing sex therapy, I aid clients in increasing their embodied safeness and openness to sensory experience. Common treatment goals include increasing overall sexual satisfaction, emotional awareness, emotion regulation and relational intimacy; cultivating self-appreciation and compassion; reducing stress, self-criticism and shame; and aiding clients in adjusting to changing life circumstances.
