Profession/Job Title:
Sex Therapist
Areas of Specialization:
Individual Therapy: I use an eclectic approach of therapeutic models, including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and narrative therapy based on your own personal goals of treatment. I believe that personal growth and self-reflection comes from support, guidance, and nurturance. This environment helps individuals build insight into their self-defeating thoughts and maladaptive behavior patterns, thus increasing self-esteem, and enhancing how you interact with the others. Areas of Specialization: · Depression  & Anxiety · Grief, Loss, Bereavement · Spirituality, Religion, Mindfulness · Existential Concerns · Physical Heath & Wellness · Job Stress · Addictions · Difficulties dealing with change · Emotional distress related to break-up or divorce · Maladaptive defense mechanisms Couples Therapy: In relationships, we tend to have the same arguments over and over, with little insight into how to change our patterns. When this occurs, there tends to be distance or emptiness in the relationship, pervasive feelings of anger, or resentment, and thus a lack of interest in physical affection or a physical relationship with one another. I work with couples to break out of repetitive arguments by helping the couple gain insight, improve communication, thus enhancing intimacy, improving low sexual desire.

Philosophy:
Sex Therapy: I have always struggled with taboo topics. I had questions about subjects, that were not acceptable to talk about, and I wanted answers. Sex, sexuality, and intimacy are concepts that we spend a lot of time pondering, but have few arenas where these topics are acceptable to discuss. The truth is everyone has sexual and intimacy concerns, but society teaches us to feel that we are alone, and isolated. This can cause inner turmoil for people, and I want to create a safe environment where people can discuss their desires, fears, dreams, and beliefs about themselves, etc.  I believe that personal growth and self-reflection come from support, guidance, and nurturance. Areas of Specialization:· Sexual identity/orientation concerns· Gender identity concerns· Parent-child sexuality communication· Avoidance of intimacy· Sexual dysfunctions· Low sexual desire· Inability to arouse/orgasm· Sexual anxiety
