Philosophy:
My sexual education philosophy is centered around the principle of sexual equity. Every individual, regardless of their abilities, background, or circumstances, has the right to access comprehensive sexual education. This education must be tailored to meet their unique needs, empower them to understand their bodies, relationships, and boundaries, and support them in fulfilling their sexual wants and needs. It’s not enough to provide the same resources to everyone; equity means ensuring that individuals receive the specific tools, knowledge, and support they require to thrive in their sexual and relational lives. For too long, sexual education has been exclusionary, with many groups, particularly those with disabilities, left out of these vital conversations. I am passionate about addressing this gap. My work is driven by the belief that everyone deserves to explore their sexuality safely and with confidence. I strive to create spaces where disabled individuals are no longer an afterthought but are instead the focus for sexual health, pleasure, consent, and relationships from the very beginning. My approach to sexual education is focused on addressing the needs of the disabled population. Sexual education for the disabled community, extends beyond what is typically found within a sexual education program. Sexual education for the disabled community must first address autonomy and rights, which are frequently overlooked and violated. Every person has the right to make choices about their body and sexuality, and they must have the information and resources to do so. I am determined to be that resource.
