Our most popular type of membership, Professional Members and eligible to pursue AASECT certification in accordance with the procedures and criteria adopted by the Board of Directors. Professional Members in good standing are eligible to serve on most committees and other functional bodies, vote in elections, and vote on other matters brought to the Board.
For recent graduates, our Early Career Professional Membership is for those who were full-time students within the past 3 years in undergraduate or graduate training at a recognized and accredited institution. Early Career Professionals are eligible to pursue AASECT certification in accordance with the procedures and criteria adopted by the Board of Directors.
AASECT reserves the right to and will randomly audit individuals registering for Early Career Professional Member status to verify eligibility. Individuals not meeting the criteria for Early Career Professional Membership status will either need to change membership types as appropriate and pay the difference in fees or have their membership with AASECT ended.
This membership is for individuals who support AASECT’s mission but are not eligible to pursue AASECT certification. Supporting Members in good standing are eligible to serve on most committees and other functional bodies, and to vote within these structures.
Supporting Members are entitled to vote for the Vice President of Membership and for Regional Representatives to the Membership Services Steering Committee, but not on any other elected positions, or on ratifications of the Bylaws. Supporting Members shall not be eligible to hold positions as Officers, as Directors, or as Chairs of Committees, nor vote in general elections.

Supporting documentation may be required and retired membership status requests must be approved by the Executive Director. Please email info@aasect.org [4] with your request.
Emeritus/Emerita/Emeritix membership status is available to AASECT members 65+ years old and pay a one-time membership fee of $1000.00 to have lifetime membership. Renewal of all AASECT certifications are still in place regarding the need for procedural performance and ethical protections of practice/supervision in the field, along with the need to fulfill regular continuing education mandates. Membership Agreement: Those who join AASECT agree to uphold AASECT's Bylaws and Vision of Sexual Health and commit to putting the welfare of the consumer first. Read more [6]
Membership and Certification: While working toward AASECT certification and prior to beginning Supervision, AASECT membership must be maintained at all times. After certification, AASECT membership must always be maintained to continue certification.
Payment Information: Annual payment must be in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. affiliated bank. Dues for members outside North America may be adjusted in accordance with economy rankings by the World Bank. Please contact the AASECT office for information on reduced rates under these circumstances.
Member Dues Refund Policy: Membership dues refunds are available by written request within 30 calendar days of joining AASECT. Membership dues are non-refundable beyond 30 calendar days from the member join date.
