In a recent story on Bustle, an online women's lifestyle publication, a spotlight was placed on It Matters [2], a new sex ed app launching in 2015. The application will allow users to access eay-to-understand information about sexual and reproductive health, and will also enable them to ask experts questions anonymously and locate nearby clinics. The app was developed by Access Matters [3], a nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia, in response to rising HIV and STD rates in the city. Its developers hope to reach even more young people seeking out sexuality information.

After leading with this story, Bustle writers went on to showcase five more sexuality education apps available or in development. One can't help but be excited about the alternative and innovative forms of sexuality education that are being created in order to meet the changing needs of younger populations.

Similarly, online women's magazine The Riveter also published a list of seven sexual health apps [4], all of which seem well worth checking out. They speculate that this proliferation of innovative apps within the realm of sexual health may come as a response to Apple's recent additions to its HealthKit app [5].

Whatever the cause, it's certainly a development worth celebrating.
