Sexual Transmission of Ebola Virus Is Shown To Be Possible [1]
According to research conducted by the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, in collaboration with the Liberian Institute for Biomedical Research (LIBR), a suspected case of sexual transmission of the Ebola virus was confirmed using genomic analysis. This work, shared in the New England Journal of Medicine [2], provides molecular evidence of virus transmission between a disease survivor and his female partner.
