Sex Ed Program for Special Education Students Being Implemented in a Michigan School District [1]

Reported in a post on Bustle [2], Thornapple Kellogg Schools, a Michigan school district, has developed a new sexual and reproductive health curriculum for those students with intellectual and/or learning disabilities. The special education program will be officially implemented into the district this coming fall semester. The impetus behind this new curriculum is research that shows that the unavailability of comprehensive sexuality education for this particular population has led to patterns of sexual abuse, violence, and exploitation. The new curriculum will include discussion of healthy and appropriate relationships, dating, abuse, consent, and more.

You can read more about this new program, and other developing programs around the world, here [2].
